# Custom resource tags

Apply your organization's tags to the AWS resources Superblocks deploys in your Cloud-Prem account, so they fit your cost allocation, ownership, and governance policies.

## Which resources are tagged

Your tags are applied to the platform resources Superblocks deploys. They aren't applied to the resources created by the bootstrap Terraform you run during [deployment](/enterprise/cloud-prem/deployment-guide).

## Add tags

1. Choose the tags you want as key/value pairs. For example:

   | Key | Value |
   | - | - |
   | `CostCenter` | `1234` |
   | `Owner` | `platform-team` |
   | `DataClassification` | `confidential` |

2. Send the list to your Superblocks deployment team.

3. Superblocks applies the tags at the next deployment.

You can add tags during your initial deployment or at any time after.

## Tag rules

* **AWS tag rules apply.** Keys and values must follow AWS [tag naming limits and requirements](https://docs.aws.amazon.com/tag-editor/latest/userguide/tagging.html#tag-conventions). Keys that start with `aws:` are reserved by AWS.
* **The `superblocks:` prefix is reserved.** Superblocks uses the `superblocks:` tag namespace for its own tags. Don't start any of your tag keys with `superblocks:`.

## Change or remove tags

To change or remove tags, send the updated list to your deployment team. Changes take effect at the next deployment.
